About Caleb

Caleb Saunders is a professional conductor, composer, collaborative pianist, music director, teacher, and vocalist. He holds a Master's Degree in Conducting with a Specialization in Collaborative Piano from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with an Emphasis in Piano Performance from Weber State University. Caleb is the current Director of Choirs at Weber High School in Pleasant View, Utah. 

• Collaborative Pianist: Caleb has performed as a collaborative pianist in many different capacities and scenarios including but not limited to Concerto soloist, orchestral pianist, choral accompanist, live pianist for Musical Theatre productions, chamber music, and accompanist for soloists on a wide variety of instruments and voice types. Caleb has collaborated with prestigious groups such as the Oregon Bach Festival, the University of Oregon Chamber Choir, Salt Lake Vocal and Choral Artists under the direction of Dr. Brady Allred, the NEXT Ensemble, the Utah Music Educators Association, and Weber State University. Caleb also frequently performs as a solo pianist for events like church services, weddings, funerals, banquets, receptions, etc. 
• Conductor/Music Director: Caleb is in high demand as a Music Director, conductor, and adjudicator. He has Music Directed over two dozen productions at theatres such as Weber High School Theatre, Ogden Musical Theatre, Centerpoint Legacy Theatre, Backstage Performing Arts, On Pitch Performing Arts, The Grand Theatre, and the NEXT Ensemble. He also served as a director for the Vocal Motion Children's Choir, often asked to arrange music specifically for the group. Caleb was also the Choir Director for the First Presbyterian Church of Ogden, Utah for three years where he directed multiple choirs/small groups, a bell choir, and performed frequently as a solo pianist and vocalist. 

• Teacher: Caleb has taught private piano lessons for over fifteen years to over 100 students. These students' ages range from 5 - 80 with abilities from absolute beginner to advanced. These lessons heavily incorporate music theory, history, technique, performance, improvisation, and composition. Caleb is comfortable teaching from a variety of method books and pulling from many different genres and styles to keep students interested and engaged in lessons. Caleb has also taught lessons in cello, organ, and voice.  
• Recording Artist: Struggling to play the piano and direct your choirs at the same time? Now you don't have to! These piano tracks are performance ready and can be requested at any tempo to aid in the rehearsal process. Caleb has made numerous recordings of high quality MIDI piano and vocal tracks for rehearsal for a number of choirs, schools, theatres, and churches. These tracks are separated into individual parts, with vocal parts and accompaniment being panned and separated from left to right, making it easy for students and choir members to hear and rehearse their voice parts on their own at home with headphones.   

• Vocalist: Caleb has been part of prestigious auditioned choirs such as the Eugene Symphony Chorus, Oregon Bach Festival Chorus, University of Oregon Chamber Choir, Utah Opera Chorus, Salt Lake Choral and Vocal Artists, the Weber State University Concert and Chamber Choirs, and the Ogden LDS Institute of Religion Singers. Caleb has been featured as a tenor soloist in the Mozart Requiem, as well as a soloist in the Utah Opera Chorus production of Silent Night.     

In his spare time, Caleb loves to be active and adventurous with his family and friends playing Pickleball, hiking, backpacking, canyoneering, boating, and traveling, especially with his beautiful wife and their two boys.
